Have you ever encounter your Blogspot to be in another domain. Yeah after all these years I never knew about this until recently. My blogspot.com blog as blogspot.co.uk. I was like WHAT?? What the hell is going on? Then I did some research and found out it was a common thing, and we should avoid this.
So what this issue?
Blogger distributes your blog to country specific domains. For example, you see it as blogspot.com but if a viewer reads the blog from the UK they see it as blogspt.co.uk. If someone reads from Australia, your domain presented as blogspot.co.au.
Why Blogger distributes your blog to country specific domains?
It is because if a particular country bans something, then the blogger will remove related content and presented its country specific domain. Blogger explains by doing this they can narrow the blog content more locally.
Why should we avoid distributes your blog to country specific domains?
- It affects your blog stats, different page visits for a different domain, yet it is the same blog post.
- If you use an external commenting system like Disqus, the problem will be the same.
All this happens because the country specific URL considers as a new URL. The readers on those different country specifics do not count as readers as the same website.
