You know what rich pins are? If you ever wonder how to get description below image on Pinterest. Or a recipe below food image on Pinterest. As boxed area in below image? So those are Rich Pins, Pins that include extra information. So today will see how to set up rich pins in blogger.
Go to blogger.
Setting -> search preferences -> meta tags and enable description if you haven’t done it so far.
Once this is enabled, you will find a field saying ‘search description’ on your right-hand side of the blog post composer.
Make sure you enter something here, this is Blogger’s Meta Description. That is, a short description of your blog post that search engines and also for Pinterest!
Go to blogger template page.
Backup template
search (Ctrl+ F or CMD+F) in your template the following
<b:includable id=’post’ var=’post’>
Inside that include tag copy and paste the following code. Make sure you expand the <b: include id> tag and paste the below code within it. At first, I paste it beneath the closing include tag and wonder what the error was.
<meta expr:content=’data:post.title’ property=’og:title’/>
<meta expr:content=’data:blog.metaDescription’ property=’og:description’/>
<meta content=’article’ property=’og:type’/>
<meta expr:content=’data:blog.url’ property=’og:url’/>
<meta expr:content=’data:blog.title’ property=’og:site_name’/>
<meta expr:content=’data:post.timestampISO8601′ property=’article:published_time’/>
<meta content=’PIN TYPE’ property=’article:section’/>
<b:loop values=’data:post.labels’ var=’label’>
<meta expr:content=’data:label.name’ property=’article:tag’/>
</b:loop>
Change the PIN TYPE to be the Rich Pin Type you want to apply to your blog. For example article, recipe or technology.
