So let me ask a question, how well your New Year resolutions are going on? Well if someone asks that question from me last year I would probably say not well, they are just sitting there staring at me even though only three months has passed and I might give up some of them already. But in this year, I think I’m one step ahead of last year. Well if you also feel the same as I did last year here are few steps that can boost your energy and motivates you for the rest of the year.
Starts a journal
Keep a habit of writing everything down; I’m also not used to write anything. But now I try to write down and finally I’m doing it. At first, it seems so difficult. But once you get used to, it helps you a lot. If your goal was eating well in this new year, take a journal write down what you had for breakfast, lunch, dinner and what you had for a snack with the date. Let’s say you ate junk food for lunch and while you write it down it remind you oh I ate healthy breakfast I have this goal, Ok I’m going to eat healthy dinner, I’m gonna eat healthy tomorrow, It will point you back to your goal.
Plan your day, Write it down
At least you could try, right? I never did it before. It was difficult for me at the beginning. But now I write down everything. I have a separate journal to record every my goals and what I did each day for it and another one for every day to do lists. It clears your mind. It helps you to keep track. Just try and you will see the difference.
Take a walk
It will refresh you. A short walk around your apartment at least once a day, fill you up with a fresh air and rejuvenate you. It’s really good if you are at home stressed about all the work you have to do, all the work you haven’t done yet. As you walk your mind will refresh and you can think clearly, and you can focus on your work.
Workout regularly
Take at least 10 min a day for yourself. A good exercise is good for your body, your mind, and your soul. At least run for 10 min if you don’t have any time for a workout. If you can’t find at least 10 min for yourself what’s the point? If you somehow manage to do a workout for a week, it will become easier next time, and then it will become a good habit.
Prioritize your work.
If you are like me, I always find excuses for a workout. And working out regularly is on top of my New Year resolution list. In the morning, I will say mmm I’ll do in the evening and in the evening, I would say Nah I’ll do it in next day and it will drag forever. And at the end of the day, it will bring all the guilt and all the stress and you will be like why didn’t I do it today?? Now what I do is I do my workout first thing in the morning. I didn’t think about anything, is it a good time? Am I in a workout mode? Can I do it? Nothing I just do it without thinking any of that. And after you do it you have the whole day ahead of you to do whatever you like and at the end of the day, you can go to bed with peace of mind thinking about your achievement.
Listen to music
As you prepare breakfast, as you take a shower, whenever you are getting ready for the day play some music in the background. It will help you with all the stress you have for the day.
Those are some tips that help me most to keep on track with my new year resolutions. So do you have any other tips that help you with??
