Oregon road trip was one of the most amazing things we did in last year. It brings joy to me every time I think back again although several months has passed now. We went in last September for two weeks and boy it was a hectic road trip. I tried to include every interesting place in there to our two-week plan. I don’t want to miss anything, but once we were there, I realized my plan was not practical. Ha ha. But anyway we went to most of the places we planned to. The only thing I hate was the rain. Rain ruined some days obviously, but overall it was a beautiful memory in 2016.
We started out the road trip from California drive all the way up to Washington and then drive back to California through US101. It was a lot for two weeks, but we were able to manage it even though the rain ruined some days.
Our first destination was Lake Tahoe. We spent two days there, and it was not enough. I was amazing.
Our first stop was Donner Summit Bridge. Fantastic views of scenic Donner Lake. Well worth the few minutes it takes to drive up here.
Next, we drove the Lake Tahoe rim drive. It was a spectacular ride with outstanding views all along the way! There are a lot of viewpoints along the drive. All of them have this beautiful views of the Lake Tahoe. This is probably the best way to enjoy the view of the lake.
Early next morning we went to Lake Tahoe again. It was a quite and peaceful time to enjoy the crater lake.It was absolutely breathtaking. Not much crowd in the morning and also the atmosphere was so calm and relaxing. Such a nice way to start the day.
We went to the city to grab a quick bite and coffee; not much crowded at the time. Nice relaxing walk among some unique shops.
Then we drive up to Sand Harbor State Park. It was the place I was counting for, Pebble rocks, breathtaking beach; you have to visit here if you ever come to Lake Tahoe.
And the next is Yosemite National Park. We drive all the way to the mammoth lake that evening. We stopped in the mono lake for a quick view.
