It has been two weeks I think I first wrote about our Oregon road trip. Now again it’s time to continue.
In the next two days, we visited Yosemite National Park. Even though September is not an ideal month to visit Yosemite, we truly enjoyed our visit. Spring season is the perfect time for Yosemite with all the wild flowers blooming and with all the gorgeous waterfalls. Even in September, it offers majestic views; you won’t regret visiting there any time of the year.
We drive through Hwy 120. The route closes for the season in October. Check that before your travel. Tioga Pass scenic road aka Hwy 120 offers spectacular views along its way to Yosemite.
First stop for the day was Lembert Dome. The meadows, the mountains, and the rocks. It offers some fantastic views. We didn’t hike the lembert dome. Still, it offers magnificent views for anyone.
We did stop many places along the way. It was a beautiful route to drive. Tenaya Lake viewpoint was our next point. The water was freezing but its a great place to swim in the summer months. It is simply beautiful with crystal clear water and mountains in the background.
Driving over Tioga Pass, be sure to stop at Olmstead Point. This is one of those places you should visit if you are in Yosemite. The views truly are incredible.
In Yosemite Valley there so many viewpoints and so many hikes. You can wander in this beauty for several days. Glacier Point, Tunnel view, Gates of the Valley are some of the interesting points you can find along the way.
If you ever visit Yosemite NP don’t forget to take either stargazing tour or moonlight tour. We first planned to take the stargazing tour, but unfortunately, it was canceled for the day, but instead, they said they have a moonlight tour. We didn’t think twice, and it is utterly worth it.
In the next day, we drive on 140 scenic route to Yosemite from our hotel. First stop was the Glacier Point. Parking was a nightmare, but we finally managed to find a spot. Views are to die for..
In the evening we went to Lower Yosemite Falls even though there is no waterfall at that time of the year. You can see the watermarks, but I wish there were the waterfall during this period also. Next, we took the mirror lake trail but alas there is no lake, haha.
Last stop for the day was Cook’s Meadow. It offers gorgeous views of Yosemite with golden rays of sunset.
Yosemite is most famous for its hikes. Especially half dome. I can never imagine myself ever climbing that, haha.
Have you ever visited Yosemite and climbed half dome?
